Peter’s Point offers plenty of facilities and is a popular beach park
If you’re looking for a beach park with great facilities and plenty of people, Peter’s Point is worth checking out. Located at 1974 S Fletcher Ave, Peter’s Point offers a 6.2-mile hiking and biking path, plenty of parking, picnic tables and BBQ stations, restrooms and showers. Lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Main Beach Park is another popular area for beachgoers
Main Beach Park is conveniently located on the north side of the island in Fernandina Beach and offers a large parking lot and plenty of facilities including volleyball courts, restrooms and outdoor showers, picnic tables, and several great restaurants nearby. You can grab a bite to eat at Sandy Bottoms Beach Bar & Grill which is located right in Main Beach Park or at Putt Putt of Fernandina Beach, which offers a kid-friendly atmosphere, burgers, hot dogs and ice cream, and mini-golf.
Check out Amelia Island State Park for a beautiful natural setting
Amelia Island State Park is located at the southern tip of the island and offers over 200 acres of forest and beaches. It is one of the few parks that allows horseback riding, and you can book a guided horseback beach ride from Kelly Seahorse Ranch to enjoy this unique experience. This park is oft-frequented by local fisherman who fish along the shoreline or from the George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier. Keep in mind that there are no restrooms along the beachfront or lifeguard towers, and pets are not allowed.
